Santa Clarita, Calif., February 10, 2015 – Animal Behavior College (ABC) today announced that Charlee Bear® Dog Treats, a Madison, Wisconsin-based manufacturer best known for its round, low-calorie, pocket-sized treats, has renewed its sponsorship of the school’s Dog Obedience Program (DOP). The renewal is effective immediately.

“We welcome the opportunity to partner with Charlee Bear again in offering our students information and access to one of the pet industry’s innovators in healthful, natural dog treats,” said Steven Appelbaum, president and CEO of Animal Behavior College. “Students like the pocket-sized treats and find them convenient and ideal for use in dog training and other activities.”

Once handmade in a neighborhood bakery more than 20 years ago, Charlee Bear® Dog Treats has become a key manufacturer with product distribution channels across the U.S., Canada and Japan. The company offers two product lines, Charlee Bear Dog Treats and Bear Crunch Dog Treats (a grain-free version), which come in a variety of flavors, including liver, cheese & egg, and bacon & blueberry and chicken, pumpkin & apple, respectively, to name a few. Resembling oyster crackers, the dog treats contain only three calories each and are popular among dog trainers and owners due to their small size and Pocket Perfect™ (no stains, no smells, no grease or crumbs in the pocket) portability.

In addition to dog trainer certification, ABC offers certification through its Grooming Instruction Program (GIP) and Veterinary Assistant Program (VAP). The school also offers a variety of relevant CEPs on a variety of subjects, including, cat management and training, pet nutrition, pet massage, pet sitting and training shelter dogs.
