Santa Clarita, Calif., March 30, 2016 — Animal Behavior College (ABC) today announced that Andis Company, a Sturtevant, Wisconsin-based manufacturer of handheld tools used to trim, cut, curl, straighten and dry hair, has become a Silver-level sponsor for the school’s certified Grooming Instruction Program (GIP). The sponsorship is effective immediately.

“Not only is ABC a leader in grooming education, they are the perfect partner for helping us to reach new and established professional groomers with Andis’ industry-leading education and tools,” said Karen Formico, Andis vice president of marketing. “Andis looks forward to building career- long partnerships with ABC groomers who graduate from the GIP.”

“We’re pleased to partner with Andis Company and appreciate their investment in pet groomer education,” said Steven Appelbaum, president and CEO of Animal Behavior College. “Andis is an exceptional company with first-rate products. Their support enables Animal Behavior College to offer our grooming program students access to new products and information for a more dynamic educational experience.”

For more than 90 years, Andis Company has designed and manufactured high-quality tools for animal groomers, barbers, shearers and other professionals. The family-owned and operated company is best-known for its electric clippers and many blade innovations. In 2013, Andis introduced ElectroGlideTM technology for animal blades that resists corrosion and provides a smoother and faster cut on all animal coats. In 2014, the company introduced the ShowEdgeTM large animal clipper and expanded its line of professional pet grooming shears, clippers, blades, and. Trimmers. Andis also offers pet grooming products, which include brushes, combs, de-shedding tools, rakes and nail clippers.

In addition to pet grooming certification, ABC offers certification through its Dog Obedience Program (DOP) and its Veterinary Assistant Program (VAP). The school also offers a variety of timely Short-Term Programs on subjects such as cat management and training, pet nutrition, pet massage, pet sitting and training shelter dogs.

Currently, ABC has 13 sponsors including Groomer’s Choice, Cardinal Pet CareTM, Miracle CorpTM, PetAg Inc, WahlTM Clipper Corp. and Charlee Bear.
