Animal Behavior College and CollegeBound Network Announce “Animal Lover” Contest – Brooklyn Woman Wins Full Scholarship to ABC and a Chance at Her Dreams

Los Angeles, October 18, 2010 – Animal Behavior College (ABC) along with The CollegeBound Network has announced Angela Bustamante of Brooklyn, New York as the winner of their “Animal Lover” scholarship contest. The contest, held on CollegeBound’s CollegeSurfing.com website, offered animal lovers and career seekers the chance to submit essays on why they wanted to win a full scholarship in any of the three courses offered by ABC; Certified Dog Trainer, Veterinary Assistant or Groomer.

Ms. Bustamante, an avid dog lover, desperately wanted to change her career and her life. Angela’s idea of combining her love of animals with the desire to own her own business took hold when she saw a TV show featuring a former attorney who had done the same. But, at 46, with a successful career in marketing, Angela could simply not afford to move forward in her pursuit, especially in today’s economy. She says, “I am extremely happy and grateful to ABC for choosing me. I have been given a chance at a whole new life; a life of my dreams. I believe that you can have the best of both worlds, loving what you do and making a living at it. This scholarship will make my dream a reality.” After graduation from ABC, Angela hopes to start a mobile grooming service in New York City, catering to urban pooches. Of course in her spare time, she will continue to volunteer at the BARC Shelter in Brooklyn.

“I am delighted that Animal Behavior College is able to help Ms. Bustamante fulfill her dream. After reading her essay I could tell that she had the passion and desire to succeed and become an ABC Certified Groomer. I am looking forward to the day when I can see her mobile grooming business in operation.” says ABC President, Steven Applebaum.

Launched in January of 2010, ABC’s Grooming Instruction Program trains students to become professional pet groomers. It also has the distinction of being one of the only training programs that teaches students to groom cats as well as dogs. After graduation, many students are immediately put to work by the businesses they complete their “hands-on” training with. The program offers many employment and entrepreneurial opportunities too, including grooming salons, mobile grooming businesses, animal shelters, veterinary offices, or even, like Angela, starting their own grooming business. Since its inception, 206 students have enrolled in the program. For more information on ABC and its programs please visit www.AnimalBehaviorCollegecourses.com or www.collegesurfing.com .
